Instructions

This template was created to assist in wrapping graphics around a pint glass shaped like a truncated cone using Inkscape.

Start by measuring your cone (glass) across the top and bottom and from the table to the top (along a vertical path, not along the cone surface). Then, if you want to add a graphic to the cone template input the dimensions of the graphic and measure (along the cone surface) the height you want to place the center of it. You can also add extra masking around the graphic, such as for acid etching, and alignment tabs to make it easier to center horizontally. Once all your measurements are in click "Generate Template", verify the template looks correct, then download it and open it in Inkscape.

Once you're in Inkscape, import your graphic into the Logo layer and resize it to be approximately the desired final size. Make sure snapping is turned on for cusp and smooth nodes, then open the Path Effects panel and add a "Bend Path" effect to the graphic. In the Bend Path settings select "Edit on-canvas", then snap the left and right anchor points to the cusp nodes that end the center line of the logo placeholder. Once that is done, drag the middle of the path through the graphic and snap it to the midpoint of the center line to match its curve.

Now that the graphic is aligned and curved appropriately you can delete the "Logo Placeholder" and the "Full Template" layer, then export your final design along with the "Logo Surrounding Mask" (for alignment to the top of the glass, even if you don't need it for masking) to your cutting machine software.
